Studies On Prayer
Studies on prayer may seem like an oxymoron. An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms.
For the most part, prayer is nothing more than communicating with God. (There is another kind of speech that the Bible refers to as prayer; which we'll cover later.) For the person who knows God as their father, talking to their Father God; should be as natural and easy as breathing.
No one taught you how to breathe. So why are studies on prayer necessary.
Well, the problem is that Christian
prayer (and more specifically healing prayers); is the
least understood but most powerful benefits of Christian life.
One reason Christians need studies on prayer is because they don't know the Bible . During thrity years of ministry, this author has known many nominal Christians who seldom read the Bible.

Another reason studies on prayer are needed has to do with the fact that, communicating with people that we can see is often a
complicated affair. Talking with a God that we can't see may seem to some an even more uncertain
prospect.
Thankfully, its not a problem for God. He wisely reads the unspoken thoughts and intentions of our hearts.
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

He also reads the things we cant quite express with our mind and tongue.
The Apostle Paul put it this way, saying;
we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be
uttered

In other words, when we do not have the presence of mind to form proper prayer words either because we're frightened or stressed, the Bible says God hears and interprets our very groans!
In Luke 11:1 the disciples asked Jesus to teach us to pray. In
essence what they asked Jesus for was studies on prayer.
Now if prayer can be taught (and Jesus taught His disciples to pray), than prayer can be learned!
This startling truth is even more powerful when it comes to christian prayer in the areas of healing prayer, and deliverance from oppression and more.
But studies on prayer, and reading books about prayer, and hearing prayer taught and preached; does not make for a strong or successful prayer life.

Prayer is reason the early Church was so effective. God is no respecter of persons. Hes the same yesterday, today, and forever. Which is another way of saying, the modern church can do and be what the early Church was.
Said differently, what God has done for others He will do for you, too.
